Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with SMA Healthcare's programs and leadership to develop and coordinate clinical intern training programs for bachelors and masters level interns.
  • Performs administrative duties to ensure effective oversight of SMA Healthcare's GME residency program and institutional accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitates orientation meetings to prepare Master's level clinical interns for their internship placements.
  • Serves as a liaison between SMA and the local universities for internship coordination.
  • Provides clinical trainings for the organization including facilitating the Qualified Supervisor Training to agency staff and external partners at least annually
  • Coordinates and/ or provides clinical supervision for SMA registered interns
  • Chairs SMA's Evidence Based practice Committee
  • Assists and/ or takes the lead in streamlining documentation and clinical processes to improve productivity and quality of the client experience.
  • Identifies trends in clinical engagement and satisfaction and provides feedback to supervisor and the management team.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership throughout the organization to enhance the clinical work environment, identify issues, opportunities for improvement and/ or trended risk concerns/ complaints.
  • Participates in other QA and/ or clinical meetings as assigned.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience: Graduation from an accredited school with a minimum of a Master's degree in the human services field and licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist or Clinical Social Worker required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the behavioral health field required. One year of experience in a setting where it was necessary to communicate orally and in writing to inform, advise, or train others about client issues, treatment service delivery, or documentation in client records required.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:

  • Ability to evaluate and manage complex situations.
  • Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current best practices of behavioral health treatment and related services, especially as it relates to documenting the course of treatment and patient placement criteria in the client record.
  • Demonstrates experience and proficiency with the behavioral health client population.
  • Demonstrates proficiency related to interpreting and implementing regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Proficiency in conducting clinical training.
  • Organizational and coordination skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative and relationship building skills.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentation. Work endurance ability to work an 8 to 13 hour day with a lunch break as possible. Routine 8 to 12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Weekend and after hour coverage will be required. Extra hours/rotation of shift may be required. On call duties will be required.
