Essential Job Functions: 

  • Establishes a rapport with clients and develops a positive working relationship with clients/workers, community customers, and the Enrichment Clinical Director .
  • Schedules production activities for numerous staff and clients at Enrichment; assigns daily work assignments for staff and clients.
  • Reports short and long term production needs to the Program Supervisor or Program Director; schedules production and delivery to meet customer requirements.
  • Trains staff in the appropriate use of a task analysis and quality control.
  • Assists in the preparation of time studies, task analysis and developing prevailing wage survey.
  • Ensures compliance with the federal rules and regulations regarding piece rates, prevailing area wages, and hourly rates; oversees timesheets for all clients at Enrichment.
  • Ensures compliance with funding, regulatory, and/or accrediting standards, policies and procedures  (Medicaid, APD, CARF, DOL, ISO, AHCA, SourceAmerica, RESPECT of Florida, AIB, etc.).
  • Assists in the development and assessment of new jobs, assists Program Supervisor or Program Director in determining cost to customers; requests materials and tools; performs initial instructions for new jobs.
  • Ensures that all safety, security and exposure/infection control procedures are followed.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with the public, outside agencies, manufacturers, businesses, governments, etc.
  • Utilizes quality control procedures; ability to inspect work and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsible for inventory and associated records and record keeping and warehouse management.
  • Operates equipment such as a fork lift (certification required), power tools, hand tools, lawn equipment, computer, etc., to teach and perform related work assignments.
  • Participates in Client Employee Council meetings and activities.
  • Understand, use and teach others manufacturing software used in Enrichment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:  Associates degree and two (2) years experience in business or production management/supervision. Experience with persons with disabling conditions preferred. 

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities: 

  • Basic knowledge in the area of adult mental health and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, materials and practices used in a quality management system for production environment.
  • Knowledge of the hazards and precautions necessary to conduct labor and trade operations.
  • Good knowledge of quality control procedures; ability to inspect work and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Knowledge of ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma beneficial.
  • Ability to plan work activities, instruct and assign personnel and adults with disabling conditions and function limitations.
  • Ability to intervene with verbally and/or physically abusive and aggressive clients and utilizing de-escalation skill techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of the client, other clients, and employees.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle (15 passenger van) to transport program participants or box truck to transport products;  ability to operate equipment such as a fork lift, power tools, hand tools, lawn equipment, computer, etc.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment.  Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 30 pounds. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate reporting, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine 8-12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be required. Work assignment locations may vary.
