Graphics Designer

Job Scope:  The Graphics Designer is responsible for the creative development and implementation of eye catching social media, email, and print marketing campaigns. Collaborating directly with the Marketing Director and other members of the SMA Executive team, the graphic designer will be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media in support of various strategic marketing.  This position also requires project management and support of other marketing tasks as needed.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Conceptualizes and brings consistency in global marketing collaterals such as traditional print pieces, presentations, promotional events, and infographics with strong brand and customer focus.
  • Works on a wide range of projects and media, using Adobe CC and other computer software to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs and videos that meet SMA's marketing goals.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Director and Executive Team, ensuring designs meet corporate standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the SMA Healthcare brand appropriately.
  • Manages workflow (which includes multiple projects at one time) and productivity in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and creative goals.
  • Examines existing processes, identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve design capabilities.
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video.
  • Create and maintain the graphic library, including configuration management and version control.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, interaction design, or related discipline.  Three (3) years of graphic design experience preferred, but new graduates with a strong portfolio will be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities: 

  • Thorough knowledge of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.
  • Strong analytical skills and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Some knowledge of photography and HTML coding.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC, including InDesign, Photo Shop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier Pro, and other graphic design software.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment.  Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine 8-12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be required. Work assignment locations may vary.
