Essential Job Functions: 

  • Provide supervision and oversight to the Mobile Response Team staff.
  • Provide assistance in the supervision and oversight of administrative and departmental issues.
  • Ensures adequate coverage of the program for all shifts and may involve supervisor providing shift coverage if necessary.
  • In the event of a natural disaster, such as a hurricane, responsible for reporting to a designated agency location to work during the hurricane in addition to ensuring staff coverage at the location for the duration of the event.
  • Provides training and guidance for new hires.
  • Responsible for the selection of new hires and on-going supervision.
  • Responsible for being available to provide guidance/clinical consult  for the staff who are working 24/7, 365 days per year
  • Responsible for ensuring coverage of the Mobile Response Team hours of operation which may include providing coverage if necessary
  • Works closely with the MIS department staff to ensure the EMR is set up to collect and track all necessary data
  • Monitors data and complies reports related to the Mobile Response Team performance measures and contractual requirements
  • Acts as an advisor to the staff through in-service trainings, individual meetings and written communications issues pertaining to the documentation expectations.
  • Assists in the development of operating procedures
  • Improves professional knowledge and skill base relevant to Mobile Response Team.   Customer service activities, attending seminars, trainings, and conferences and by reading current literature.
  • Participates in required SMA in-service trainings to maintain employment.
  • As assigned, assists in the maintenance of SMA's compliance with treatment and documentation requirements of funding sources, performance improvement, and accreditation activities.
  • When assigned or review requires have knowledge of up to date standards/criteria of ASAM PPC, Medicaid, a particular MCO, DCF, and CARF

Minimum Education and/or Experience:  Graduation from an accredited school with a minimum of a Master's Degree.  (Mandatory)  Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Preferred 2 years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities: 

  • Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current best practices of behavioral health treatment and related services, especially as it relates to documenting the course of treatment and patient placement criteria in the client record.
  • Depending on assignment must have knowledge of typical diagnoses, treatment services, and developmental issues for adolescents in general, delinquent adolescents, adults and pregnant/post partum women who are admitted to a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Knowledge of growth and development.
  • Ability to assess age specific data.
  • Ability to interpret age specific response to treatment.
  • Knowledge of the treatment needs of adolescent mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring, ADD, ADHD, conduct, and oppositional defiant disorders.
  • Knowledge of the treatment needs of adult mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring diagnoses of affective disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and antisocial personality disorder.
  • Knowledge of the treatment needs of adult pregnant/post -partum women with mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring diagnoses of affective disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and antisocial personality disorder.
  • Proficiency in working with telephone system and telephone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in working with computer hardware and software, when assigned.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment.  Complete SMA required training during the first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client health care needs.  Fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentation.  Work endurance ability to work an 8 to 13 hour day with a lunch break as possible.  Routine 8 to 12 hour shifts.  Hours and days off may vary.  Weekend and after hour coverage will be required.  Extra hours/rotation of shift may be required.  On call duties will be required.
